It is suggested by BIRD Healthcare Pty Ltd that all filter pads and inline filters being used for any form of CPAP, APAP or BiLevel delivery should be changed weekly in the average home or hospital environment to avoid excess particle clogging and keep the filter effective, thus maintaining a superior air quality, or between different users of the same machine (which ever is sooner). In heavy industrial areas, filters may need to be changed more regularly.

A - 0hrs (NEW)
B - 110hrs (approx 2 weeks of nightly use)

As a patient relies on the devices to supply them with air for up to 8 hours during the night and they are normally taking in a greater volume of air than a person breathing without the CPAP/BiLevel Machine, studies have suggested that CPAP users can suffer greater instances of upper airway problems.
